If I log out, clear cookies and log in I can get to the Dashboard screen, however if I click DASHBOARD again i get the "Cannot Load index.php" error again.
going to http://www.design-studio.com/wp-admin/ gets me to dashboard
but http://www.design-studio.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=index.php gets me the error.
Yes, I have reinstalled the wp-admin/index.php with a fresh one. Still same effect.
grrrrrrrrr
odd
FOUNT IT!!!
WordPress Admin Bar plugin is the issue....
in settings for that plugin you need to UNCHECK...
Show the admin bar/In the admin area
and all comes back for me.
yeah!!!!!!!!!!
I also have problems with the dashboard link in the admin area. When I click the link (http://mydomain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=index.php) it redirects me to my root index instead of the first page of the admin area of the dashboard.
I don't have admin bar plugin installed..
I can't figure it out.
Ok, I found an 8 month old answer to this; I renamed index.php in the plugin-folder to index.html. This fixed the problem.
Why did this problem start in the first place, I don't know.
Thanks alansmith78 your solution worked for me as well. I was about to lose a couple of hairs over this.
