    Hi,

Just upgraded my wordpress 2.6.5 to 2.7 but i noticed that when I’m done publishing my post the page just go to the edit post page. I think it should be like 2.6.5 or other wordpress version that when you published a post the page should go to the new post or add post not on the edit post.

Hope anyone will help me with this.

    Thank you

No action required database is up to date.

    That’s the message appeared.

    I’m still experiencing the problem

And one thing sometimes the menu below the post box is missing so I still have to refresh it until the menus/options will appear again.

I’m talking about the new post page menus/options.

Somebody obviously disagreed with you, because that change was intentional. I remember when it went into place.

After you publish your post, the Preview button (top right) becomes a link to it, you can click that to go to the post.

That’s the way it is designed to work now.

    So meaning that was intentional?

What I mean about that is that when you publish a post it should only have the link at the top to view or to edit the post.

But what is happening is that when I publish a post it is going to page with my published post ready to be edited, So it is just going to a edit post page not on the new post or add new post page.

So I still have to click on the add new post for me to be able to add new post again which is I think a bug. Or if not very inconvenient.

I’m not quite following you, or you’re not quite following me, or something.

When I say that that was intentional, then I mean that that change was made on purpose. They redesigned WordPress to work that way. When you publish a post, yes, it takes you back to that post in the editor. That is by design. That is the way it is supposed to work.

Yes, it was not like that in 2.6, but it is like that now. It is not a bug, it is an intentional design decision.

Most people don’t write one new post after another after another. They write a post, then notice a typo and edit it, or add bits to it slowly in draft mode, or what have you. So the Publish button takes you right back to the post, in case you notice a mistake in it. It’s the most common use case.

You think it is inconvenient to not get an automatic New Post, but many people thought it was inconvenient to have to reload the editor every time to see the post they just wrote.

OK. But i think this should be optional, many of my friends uses wordpress and we all like the way 2.6 are when it comes to posting.

Well if this not a bug, why is that sometimes the menus below the post box are missing? So I still have to reload the page so that the menus will appear. That is REALLY inconvenient.

I’m hosting a news and entertainment site, so I’m really publishing a post everyday so I really need to publish a post fast so I think the new design should be optional, and the menus below the postbox should always be showing.

Then for fast publishing, don’t forget the QuickPress module in the Dashboard!

Do you get any javascript errors in the console when this occurs?

There’s no bug in WordPress here, but there may be a configuration issue on your specific site.
