Simple Tagging.

    I have just upgraded two blogs to WordPress 2.7

    I was using the “Simple Tags” plugin, but it said I needed to upgrade to “Simple tagging” (same author)

    I’ve got a couple of problems.

    In one blog, it searches the local database for the tag – though it always gives an error.

    In the other blog, the search works fine … but, it searches Technorati – which I don’t want it to do.
    I’ve had a look at the options:

    • “Tag search base”, it’s got the local URL
    • Include tags as categories in feeds is off
    • The post tag link format has % fulltaglink % – which seems to point to the local site & it’s not got % taglink % anywhere in it.

    I’ve tried resetting the permalinks to the default & back to what I want them to be.
    Clearly, there’s something I’ve missed and though I’ve checked both blog’s settings, I can’t work out what it is.
    Any suggestions.

    I’ve had a bit more of a look … it’s only the tags in the post that default to searching technorati … those in the tag cloud search locally (in the other blog, those in the post also search locally). However, though hovering over the tag tells me there are “x” posts, it gives an error message & says it can’t find any.
    I’m also not able to set it so that all the text in the cloud is the same size. I’ve set “max” & “min” both to the same number … but it still wants to set them to different sizes.

    I’ve also discovered that though the cloud tag & also “tags” seems to think that i’ve got tags – “mass edit” on the tag plugin option doesn’t.

    I think I’m getting somewhere … I thought that all the tags I created were controlled by “Simple Tags”, but maybe it was the tagging in WordPress … that would explain why things aren’t working.
    Any suggestions??

    I’ve just read his website … seems that simple tags is going to be updated. I think I’ll just disable Simple tagging, cos the other worked fine.

    I’ve sorted one thing out … the post I kept testing with was posted from Flock & it was Flock adding the technorati links!
    Doh!
