• I’m running WordPress 1.2.2 and neither link_pages nor list_cats are respecting the custom file parameter. I want them to send users to a different template but they’re still pointing towards the default template.

This is impairing the functionality of my website. I can find no solution and scant reference to this problem on this forum. I have searched but perhaps I’ve missed something.

    Can anyone help? TIA.

  • Have you implemented mod_rewrite in your .htaccess file in order to direct WP to use other templates?

No. I didn’t know I needed to, I thought this was just a standard feature of WP (it being listed in the manuals without any comments about mod_rewrite or .htaccess).

Can you point me in the direction of some instructions?
