   I upgraded three blogs today to v2.6.5. The first two went flawlessly, and I got careless and clumsy with the third. I didn't make a complete backup and now, after the upgrade, none of the links work (including Pages, Archives, etc.)

   The careless mistake that I made was deleting my wp-config.php file. So I needed to generate new KEYS when creating the new config file. Could that have something to do with this?

   All of the posts still exist when I login and attempt to edit. And even if i re-publish a post or click the VIEW THIS POST link in the editor, I get the 404 page. Worse, still, I'm getting the SERVER 404 page, not the Wordpress 404 error.

   Any ideas?!?

   Have you tried changing to the default permalinks? If so, do the pages work then? I think this an htaccess problem. Do you have a backup of that file? If so, delete the one that is there and replace with the backup.

   Ok - switching to default permalinks definitely worked. However, I have lots of links to the pages based on the "Day and Name" link structure. Any suggestions for getting that to work again?

   I don't have a backup of htaccess, but did not edit it previously. I'll do a little research on that and see if I can figure it out. But if anyone has an additional suggestion in this regard, I'd appreciate it.

   Hey kwbridge - after simply waiting an hour or so and switching the permalinks back to the setting I wanted, everything now seems to be functioning! Thanks for the suggestion.

   Hmm ... maybe someone else can tell you why it is working again. For now, I'm glad everything is accessible.
