Support » Themes and Templates » A terrible issue with iNove 1.0.2 and IE6

  • Hi Guys,
    I’ve been working hard to set up a descent blog using wordpress 2.6 and Ino 1.0.2 theme.

    On my site design scandinave the right sidebar doesn’t display properly at all for users using IE6 (according to my stats more than 40% of my visitors are still using IE 6…).

    I tried to spot the compatibility issue but i haven’t been to find anything.

    Is there someone who already encountered such kind of issue ?

    Would you mind sharing advices ?

    Thanks

  • Same here. I have been trying to work out the IE7 “image flicker” or “screen flash” repaint issue on every page reload (tested it on several different workstations, and I even saw the same behavior on the authors site), for a couple of days now. While doing that, I happened to access it from a machine still running IE6, and noted the same issue. The right sidebar was missing from the bottom of the “north” sidebar area (including its contents) on down. Works perfectly in Firefox. Version 1.1.1 has some notable improvements, but the flicker issue persists. I did not recheck the sidebar issue with version 1.1.1. Please post back if you find the solution.

    Hi Clayton,
    Well i really spent too much time on this, i decided to switch for another layout.
    A lot of people are still using IE6…this is incredible

    This might be a double padding issue with the 2 div’s, main and sidebar. This is an IE6 issue I’ve run into before. Try opening your ie6.css file and add the following line:

    #container {display:inline;}

    Hope this helps
