   I have upgraded my blog to 2.7 RC1. It is running on a windows server. I had permalinks set to "/index.php/2008/12/06/sample-post/" which worked fine before the upgrade.

   Now, this option does not work anymore - and even the solution I found in these forums (adding "category" and "tag" bases) does not work in 2.7 RC 1. I just get a 404 error page when that option is switched on. Same symptoms as described in the 2.6 bug, but the solution does not work in 2.7 RC1.

   Does someone know a solution or can someone point me in the right direction? For me it is important, that inbound links don't stay broken...

   Funny thing this is. I noticed that only the start page was broken and found the solution.

   In IIS in the list of start documents for the website, the PHP entry was "Index.php". I changed that to "index.php" (lower case I) and now it works fine. I have no idea why that always worked in older versions and now suddenly didn't anymore - but now everything is fine ;-)

   Maybe this can save someones time.
