• I started a new php 4.1 MySQL on a godaddy webhosting under windows hosting for someones account and installed WordPress 6.7 RC1
And when i went to install i got this :

Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.

I install about 1 blog every 2 or 3 weeks for some client and I never had this problem before, i even done a few on godaddy accounts for people. Can someone tell me what im doing wrong? I went into the mysql database manager and it said php has mysql extension as well.

I found out its a free account under windows hosting i think thats the reason right? I will get him to switch it to a linux account and see if i can get him to pay monthly.. I did some more research on the hosting so ill see what i can do!

Yes, move to Linux and you’ll be okay. It will even KIND OF work on a Free with Domain Linux hosting plan.
