   Running 2.7rc1 on DownTownHost.

   For some reason the plugin updaet information is not fetched. That is, I know that half the plugins that I have installed (active or not) have been updated since I've installed them. in 2.6.* WP would alert me when the update was available and automatically install it if I choose to. Now, however, WP acts as if no updates are available and I have no idea how to force it to check for plugin updates.

   Any ideas?

   I also have this bug. After installing WP 2.7 notifications disapeared ;/

   Here also, not working since 2.7, on the same server with 2.6.x working perfect!

   yeah, the auto-update freezes halfway through. Also I get a 500 server error whenever I try to delete pages.

   pdreissen - you might want to follow http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/8476 and Ryan's request to:

   Can you use phpymadmin or the like to look at the 'update_plugins' option in the options table? Cut-and-paste it here.

   I just did this thanks. Strangly enough i don't have the update_plugins option in the options table!

   2.7 RC1 - attempted update of WordPress stats - got this (fairly quickly)

   Upgrade Plugin

   Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/stats.1.3.5.zip

   Download failed.: Could not open handle for fopen() to http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/stats.1.3.5.zip

   Plugin upgrade Failed

    However, trying again with WordPress database backup plugin, got this

    Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wp-db-backup.2.2.2.zip

    Unpacking the update

    Deactivating the plugin

    Removing the old version of the plugin

    Installing the latest version

    Plugin upgraded successfully

    Attempting reactivation of the plugin

    Plugin reactivated successfully.

    Second time through, Stats updated fine.

    Just sayin.

    2.7 rc1 and 2 worked fine for plugin updates for me, 2.7 final I just get a error message.

    I think this is a generic bug on 2.7, although I have not come across it on the new realease :)
