This plug-in is based on technique of “Disabling right click” and “No text selection” scripts.

Yeah, sure. And where did I copy that quote? You'll get only one guess...

    Next try, please.

This plug-in will protect your blog from being copied by small bloggers or the bloggers which are new to blogging. This plug-in will simply disable right click and selection of text so that atleast the guys who dont have any idea about other stuff like viewing source etc.
so i think this will bring down the copy paste thing to atleast 30% [70% people can copy and can give you credit].
Those 30% people are mostly newbie or just basic bloggers.

    cchetanonline,

First of all, congratulations on creating this plugin. I agree with you when you talk that about 30% of the copy and paste will be blocked.

I hope that you improve your techniques and bring us more and more useful plugins like yours.

    Best regards,

Sure, and 95% of backlinks and usability.

I have to agree with the original premise here. This sort of thing is counterproductive and hurts a site way more than it helps.

I thought it was something like machines copying the text, not humans.

Oh well. I guess this is not too useful.

I'll have to agree that this won't help much, if at all.

Those who copy are grabbing content via RSS, not directly from the page. At worst, they're using a scraping program which grabs from the page source anyway.

The only deterrent I've found that works is a big ol (randomly generated) copyright notice at the top of a post viewed through RSS.

Most of the copycats haven't a clue how to strip it out, and they "really" don't want the world knowing they stole your content.

No, it isn't exactly the most elegant way on the planet as your real readers see it, but if done at least semi-tastefully it doesn't hurt much.

In fact, there is already a plugin which adds a copyright notice to each post in your feed, although it would need tweaked to put the notice before the post and not after.

there are lots of plugins that dont really do anything useful for the majority of "whatever". Thats why we self host our blogs -- to make those choices for ourselves.

cchetanonline, you dont misrepresent what the plugin does, so I think you did a fine job.

Good job. You tried and as long as it works for you it does not matter who else uses it.

I have been a web designer for over 15 years ... the thief will find a way ... the unknowing will be detoured ... the ethical will ask and give credit.

    Every little bit helps :)

I appreciate that you thought about this and tried to come up with a solution. Do not be discouraged from continuing to think of ways to make being a blogger a great thing.

As with all plugins, people have the choice to implement it or not.

    :)
