I want to prevent my blog's home page from being indexed, as people are being directed there by search engines because of something that was on the home page for a day or two, but is no longer there. I'd rather people be directed to the page containing the post with the terms they are searching for.
Yes, I know I could add text to my home page and make it a static page, but I'd rather not do this. I also know I will need to use my robots.txt for this, I'm just a bit nervous of doing the wrong thing and blocking the entire site.
Suggestions?
