   I want to do something really simple. I want change the background colors on my blog template, both the center color and the sidebar color. Is there any good tutorial on how to do this I can refer to? I just want to make sure I don't screw this up.

   Also, if anyone can recommend a site to sample different color matches that would be great. I'm not planning on using colors more complicated than light/medium greys or greens.

   Nope. You think it is simple but it is not. If you lack the knowledge never assume what is simple and what is not.

   Everything that is related to your layout, design, display - is in the style.css, your stylesheet.
