   Folks, I am new to this stuff.

   I recently created a web site and installed wordpress. I unzipped and uploaded a wordpress theme to the wp-content/theme folder in my webhost database then activated the theme on Wordpress thru the Admin login. Unfortunately, the widgets are not active. I need a whole lot of advice on this.

   ...and by the way, shouldn't the Media Library be populated with images from my webhost?

   Where should I ftp plugins and how should I activate them?

   Could someone, anyone out there help, please?

   As a general rule, always read/search the online Docs, the Codex.

   Some themes are not prepared to use widgets. You either pick another one or learn to code to make them widget ready.

   No, the pics should NOT show up. Only images that you uploaded via the WP interface.
