I’m a little confused as to what is not working across the browsers. Is the interface to add a podcast on posts, the podcasting feed, or the audio / video player? You mention an image appears as well. Where are you seeing this image and can you point me to a page where I can see this myself?

It is not a ‘live’ site at the moment and my test podcast post is at: http://www.digital-works.co.uk/new2/?p=41. It is the audio player in the blog that I have tested (I have yet to test it actually works as a podcast).
the podcast interface looks the same across all browsers, but when I click to play the track in the blog in safari on the mac & in Firefox on Vista it loads the the image you see above the play button in the blog (http://www.digital-works.co.uk/new2/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/countertext081.jpg).
Hopefully that makes some sense.
Looking at your HTML, it looks like you have the player wrapped in a link to that image. Check your post edit screen to see if there is a link around [podcast].
