Is there a way to unpublish all the entries in a category?
I have 70 entries in my "Election 2008" category and I'm tired of politics for the moment and would like to turn all of them to "unpublished" for now.
Is there a way to easily do this?
Thanks,

There are many reasons why someone would want to do this. For example: I bought a huge WP website, and want to re-mission it around just one of the categories (at a new domain name). I fugure on installing the whole DB in WP the new domain, and then deleting or unpublishing most of the categories.
Hi
I suggest you download and install the Admin Management Xtended Plugin
from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/admin-management-xtended/
This will let you unpublish posts from the Post Management page rather than having to do each one individually.
After you get it installed, use the filtering on the posts page to display only the category you want to change. One of the new icons that will appear on each line after the plugin is installed is a checkmark. When you click on the checkmark, it changes to an X which means the post has been unpublished. It works by Ajax so there is no page refresh necessary after each change. You can go down the list of posts and change them one by one, all on the same page.
Too bad this plugin has not been updated for 2.8.5 and above.
That plugin likely works at 2.8.5. But if you are concerned, backup your database before using it.

I forgot, I didn't, I was lucky!
The PI installed and enabled okay, and looked pretty good on the Post Management page. but all of its icons were missing and there was no interaction i.e. nothing to click.

@skeezicks: What version of the plugin and WP are you using?
