   Hey there,

   I've browsed through the Template Tags/wp title page in the Codex and, unless I'm missing something, I couldn't find the answer to what I'm looking for on there.

   Any how, I would like for the subject line of the post to appear in the browser title line. What's the tag I would use for this?

   I've noticed that not having the article title included in the title line has been killing my search engine listings and traffic therein. Also, on a somewhat related note, is it possible to have a search engine pull from a post's excerpt to use as a description rather than whatever random text it first encounters in a crawl?

   Go to Settings > Permalinks and edit the settings.

   I don't know the answer to your second question, sorry.
