Site Hacked – GoDaddy Advertisements inserted – Help!

    Hi,

    Running wordpress version 2.5.1. In the past 24 hours my website has been hacked and someone has inserted advertising at the header and sidebar. I do not know where to begin to check how and where the malicious code is.

    Please take a look (www.mymindwanders.com) – the problem is obvious.

    I’d suggest talking to Godaddy–that looks like your domain might be one they term “Free with Hosting” and they (Godaddy) will place ads on your site.

    Hmm, nope I don’t have my hosting at Godaddy. I have the name registered at SiteGround and I host on a VPS at 1&1.com.

    Nevermind… it was a sponsor who had me insert code into my sidebar. The PHP code inserted a number of <div>’s which laid on top of the page. I removed that code and no more problem.

    I swear I saw a ‘Parked at Godaddy’ header earlier–oh well thanks for marking resolved.
