Hi all,
I am setting up a blog with many contributors and I'd like them not access to the administration area in order to write new posts.
In other words, I'd like to write new posts from a page that uses the website template (and not the admin's). Is it possible?
As a first step, I've found the sidebar-login plugin to hide the login page.
I did not manage to find a solution ready for my problem, sorry if it has already been discussed.

Sidebar login with this,
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sidebar-login/
Also for those Registering, see if you might want this,
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/register-plus/
Use this plugin with the feature turned-on that redirects someone logging in back to the page they came from (instead of going to the dashboard they go back to the page where they used the Login form in your sidebar),
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/weasels-login-redirection/
Create the "Write Post" area in your frontend with this,
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tdo-mini-forms/
That last plugin I listed is the answer to your question really. Enjoy!
I've got it working on a site, with basically the above combination to keep Authors out of the wp-admin and dashboard.
In this case, how would an author edit their post without going into the backend? I'm lookign to do the same thing.

This is much too cumbersome. Can't someone make a plugin that creates a cohesive front-end menu for user contributions so they don't see the dashboard?
You can use the Posthaste plugin.
