• When I try to install WP [single user] I get this warning:

“Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/spyweb1/spy1u1018/html/wp-admin/install.php on line 52”

And I can read the texto of the config file above, and the WP logo in the middle.

I check the file, the DB and eveything. I search the forums and find nothing clear about it.

    Thanks for you help!!!!!!!

I’m trying to install Worpress 1.2.2.. I’m using dreamweaver for the upload. Do I need to know about ftp clients?

I would not use DW or anything expensive – they only seem to cause problems around here.

    has some freeware suggestions.

    Filezilla rules btw 🙂

There are some known issues with using Dreamweaver for file uploads. However, if you search around, you can find extensions for Dreamweaver that fix and also add more function to this process. I use Dreamweaver, but I FileZilla for moving files to and from my server. If I could integrate the two, I would! 🙂

Ok. I tried with another ftp client and nothing happen. I fix the error line 52 [accidentally, i had delete the php sign in the first line of the config file] but now, the browser keep it saying that it can’t access the database!
The info, although, in my config file is correct.
    What can I do?
    Try with another CMS?
    I like very much WordPress!!!!
    Thanks for you advise…

Are you sure that it’s correct? Did you put the info in the right place? What is the exact error code? Have you read these two articles?

Yes, I do. But I guess this is related to the upload method. Should I upload in ASCII mode? Or Binary mode?

ASCII mode is how the files should be uploaded. If your FTP client supports it, you can set it on auto-detect to figure this out for you on the fly, because you don’t want to upload images in ASCII.
