   For those interested, I made available on my website the Italian translation of the Carrington theme.
   On the same page a generci POT file to be used in poedit for fiurther translations is available.

   Hello,

   The problem is "how to use the .po file"

   I tried everything and fail to make carrington take the translation in account

   Istellie,

   Use ".mo" file.

   Put it inside the theme's folder and name the folder as "carrington" without any suffix, since the textdomain is assigned with that name. I think it has been explained in sirjoe's blog post.

   And have you changed the language setting appropriately in the config.php file?
   If not, follow the instructions available in codex.
