• IMHO, Though WordPress is a great Blogging tool, there extension directory needs a lot of improvement.
I have been doing searches and noticing that programmers are taking way to much advantages of using Tags.
For example, search “Ajax Slideshow” and it returns 180 extensions and over 70% of them have nothing to do with Ajax or a slideshow.
SodaHead Polls, takes you to a site that trys to force you to download an Antivirus program (a9installer). No matter what you press, it downloads software onto your system.
These are issues that should be taken care of to keep wordpress a head of the game. Especially with new users who would easily get confused.

  • but wordpress has no control over who develops a plugin and how they take advantage of search engines and users.
Stick with the wordpress plugin repository – at least that way if something’s up, you can report them to the proper folks.
