Moving from Drupal to WordPress (8 posts)

I've got a Drupal site. Its about 2/3 years old and I'm seriously regretting ever using Drupal over WordPres.

I'm thinking about switching. Thing is, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to transfer my content while keeping in place categories and users.

Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, please reply.

I've search for plugins, tutorials, sql scripts and none of what I have found fits the bill.

The closest I came was to import content using the RSS import option in WP. But there were a few issues with adding in categories and I could only bring back 30 nodes (posts) at a time.

Odd thing is there is a very easy way to go from WP to Drupal?

Here are a couple links that could help

Thanks for these. I had already seen them and am pretty reluctant to use tutorials from 2 or 3 years ago and using different versions.

I would be too, I don't know anything about Drupal.

The conversion was pretty clean for me. The only problem I had was that most user info was lost. The password seemed to be correct, but users were given no role. A few users are still having difficulty logging in. All of the content & categories copied over cleanly.

Hey Mike, I just tried the script but my categories didn't copy over.

I think it could be something to do with my terms in Drupal, they look like this:

    tid vid name description weight
    1 1 News 0
    2 1 Reviews 0
    3 1 Gigs 0
    4 1 Features 0
    5 1 Festivals festivals 0

Its as if the "name" (1) has been copied over but all my posts are down as "uncategorised".

I knew it wouldn't be easy!

    I've just stumbled on this:

Interesting but the versions are a bit off.
