OK my website is called bizzle.com. In my site I have about 3-4 pages. The pages are called venues, sports, and concerts.

Say you're online, goto bizzle.com. Your at the homepage. On my menu is a page called Venues. You click on it and you're directed to the venue page. In the address bar or your browser, it reads something like http://www.bizzle.com/?page_id=2.

How do I change the ( ?page_id=2 ) to something more easier like venue. So the address would read http://www.bizzle.com/venues?

I looked into this and the read article about settings>permalinks but it didnt really clarify it. Can you please be specific.
PS my html knowledge is little

    1. FTP to your wordpress install and change the permissions of the .htaccess file to 777. This should be the .htaccess file located in the folder where where wordpress is installed usually www or htdocs

    2. Login to wordpress and go to the Settings>>Permalinks area

    3. Select the Month and Name option (or whatever else looks good to you) and hit save changes button on the bottom.

    4. Look for a message at the top that says your permalink structure has been updated vs. one that says you need to update you htaccess file.

    5. Now, for good measure, change the settings on your .htaccess file back.
