index.php “redirects” to about page

I’m modifying a base theme, and somewhere along the line, my default page stopped being index.php, and became a static “about” page.

I’ve tried changing themes, and swapping out the index.php, but no change. When I change themes, the preview window shows the actual index.php, but when activated, the blog only shows the “about” page.
