   As far as I understand, Wordpress only allows max of 1 credit link. However, this theme has 2 in the footer that link to http://carringtontheme.com/ and http://crowdfavorite.com/

   one is the theme page and he other is the author page.

   There are actually 3 credit links in the theme:

   1. a link to WordPress (the platform)
   2. a link to Carrington (the theme, where themes resources will be)
   3. a link to Crowd Favorite (the developer) which can be turned off in the provided options page

   @hostingchecker: btw, since it is released under GPL, you can remove any or all of the links yourself (which, however, would be very mean ethically :) )

   I love this theme, just rated it 5 stars - it deserves the credit. I love understated themes!

   Very nicely designed theme! I wish I could use it. However, I'm a bit annoyed at all the self - promotion. Seems a little bit contrary to the spirit of open source. Also I don't get why the code has been spread out in a bunch of different folders and files rather than following the regular conventions for WordPress themes. And then every single file has a promotional section. Still, as I said, great job on the design!

   I recommend reading the README, which explains why the theme is organized as it is.

   This is not promotion or self-promotion. It is following the guidelines of the FSF:

   http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html

   You should maintain a proper copyright notice and a license notice in each nontrivial file in the package. (Any file more than ten lines long is nontrivial for this purpose.) This includes header files and interface definitions for building or running the program, documentation files, and any supporting files.
