What are the best ways to market a blog, to get viewers to come to it and respond to posts? We have already added tags, and it does show up on Google, but what are the other "tricks of the trade" to publicize the existence of a blog?
Thanks very much.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely look into joining the SEO Forum. As for your other excellent suggestion, that of submitting my blog into blog directories, where do I find them and how do I go about doing this?

Hello mrandmrsboomer.com!
I'm pretty sure the Google can be your friend. Just type the "blog directories" keywords in the input field of Google and make an enter. You'll get a dozen hits about free of charge blog directories ;) However the content of your blog is always important. Anyway if you have a little traveling section on your page you can submit that to my directory. On my Online Hotel Bookings page you can find a great Travel Directory.
Dont forget to ensure that you have good quality content on your site in the first place. If you have this, then people will come to your site frequently anyway.
Google has plenty of free advertising to help you along the way!
Cheers

People also get their attention if your content have fresh ideas. Besides from ideas it also got their attention if you have great services you offer to them.

I just saw an add stateing that someone has bid high for add space in first search position for years (worth millions) yet never paid and that google is ok with this. Of course, the "secret" is for sale.
Is there some grain of truth here? Perhaps a quid-pro-quo or some earning arrangement?

BarrettB,
The number of so-called marketing secrets available for sale on the net is astounding. A lot of it is crap, obviously, and some of it is also legitimate. Is this person claiming that he somewhow has Addword adds going around without paying for it?
