Support » Fixing WordPress » Adding a thumbnail?

  • I am working on setting up my second blog. The first one used 2.5 version if i am not mistaken, and when writing a post, it would offer the choice of a thumbnail version, than a link to either the full size or others. Now, in version 2.6, i cannot seem to find where to get a thumbnail created from the image i provide. If i want to include a media (an image in this case), it just takes the image and places it full size immediately.

Also, i cannot seem to retrieve the image from my computer as it gives me an error message that it cannot copy the file to ….
The uploaded file could not be moved to /www/…com/c/a/s/cassel/htdocs/blog/wp-content.
    What does that mean?

  • Hi Cassel,
In version 2.6, in the Media Uploader, must be an option which allows to leave the ajax mode and upload the files in the ‘old way’. That should work, because I had the same problem.

Then, for the thumbnail size, there’s normally the three options : full, medium or thumbnail, like in 2.5.

Anyway, you should be able to modify the ‘pirate’ full sized image in the post editor, just putting the mouse over it and selecting the little ‘image editor’, side by side of the ‘cancel image’ option.

    Hope that helps
