• I upgraded and it caused several of my plugins to stop working, including Lighter Menus and Tags to Technorati. I had to revert to an earlier version.

    Can you elaborate on “stop working” please? Any error messages or clues that might help?

    After i upgrade, i can’t add tags when i write a post (page still ok).

    Yip… same here. I also get a blank dashboard page every now and then. Does anyone know how I can find an older version to revert back???

    We expect to have a .1 release shortly. Stay tuned.

    Firebug is showing:

    document.getElementById("akismet-stats-frame") is null
    resizeIframeInit()
    (?)()
    (?)()
    (?)()(function () {
         return a.call(this, D);
    },function () {
         return a.call(this, D);
    },function () {
         return a.call(this, D);
    },function () {
         return a.call(this, D);
    },function () {
         return a.call(this, D);
    }, function(), undefined)
    (?)()()
    document.getElementById('akismet-stats-frame').onload = resizeIframe;

    Try updating now.

    Tags are there again, no more Firebug errors.

    Seems like the blank dashboard is not an akismet-related problem, as it occurs even with Akismet deactivated…

    OK, the blank dashboard seemed to be because I had an “index.php” in my plugins directory. Renamed it to “index.html” – now it’s working.

    i confirm that this new version including the latest release namely Version: 2.2.1 makes some tag plugin stop working. In fact i use Simple tags (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-tags) and akismet blocks the access to the plugin settings just showing the main plugin setting page (i mean the other setting are not accesible anymore). I have to revert to a previous Akismet release. Hoping to see a stable version of it!

    I updated and askimet disappeared, spam has started again. checked plugins but no askimet, what happened? What do I do now?

    @france1972: I use Simple Tags, too, but I am having no problems.
    Maybe a browser issue? Just clear your cache and try again. Sometimes, this might help.

    Akismet 2.2 indeed seems to cause problems. Since it’s the only change to my site and Simple Tags stopped working properly, it’s safe to assume these things are related (not blaming anyone in particular).

    However, upgrading to Akismet 2.2.1 just solved the problem. Everything seems to be working as before.

    Thanks for this very fast solution!

    @saphod: you are right…i emptied the cache and this trick worked. Now Akismet works flawlessly

    Sorry about that folks – there was a premature deploy. As far as we’re aware there was nothing in 2.2.0 that prevented it from working, but it did interfere with some other plugins that use Javascript in wp-admin.

    If anyone is still experiencing problems after upgrading to 2.2.1, please try emptying your browser cache, and if problems persist post details in a new thread.

    Those running 2.2.1, take a look at the Dashboard / Akismet Stats tab and say “ooh!”

    Ooooooooooooh!

    Purdy, them thar stats. 🙂

    Thanks Team Akismet!
