   I have two blogs that are set up in exactly the same way; the archive page works on one, but not on the other:

   http://www.shivanata.com/archive = FAIL

   http://www.fluentself.com/archive = WORKS LIKE A CHARM

   The permalinks are set up the same way, "archive.php" and "archives.php" templates are identical.

   Any thoughts?

   Do you have an actual archive page set up?
   ie. Look in Manage->Pages

   If not, create one. Be sure to select the archives page template.

   Dammit, I knew it was going to be something as simple as that.

   Thanks, VelvetBlues, that -- of course -- was exactly the problem.
