I am completely new to Wordpress but have set up a blog hosted by a third party. From what I can see the version of Wordpress is 1.5.1.3. I downloaded a new theme to apply but even though it claims to be active I simply get a blank page. Is this an incompatibility of Wordpress version with themes. If so is there a source of themes that is still applicable to the old version?

I am having a very similar problem. I am also new to WordPress, as well as Blue Host, the third party server I am using. I have chosen a theme from the WordPress directory and uploaded it to the WordPress themes directory, as instructed, on Blue Host. I unzipped the file. But nothing appears on the WordPress theme directory page!
What am I doing wrong? Someone please advise!
