   Hey, my site is www.5starhiphop.com. I just tried using the pingback/trackback feature to notify another blog I linked to them. But it does not show up on the other blog. What could be the cause of this?

   The only reason I even use the feature is to make connections with other bloogers in my field. I really need this feature to work.

   It has worked in the past. I have recently moved to a new host. It may be that, but I don't see what they have to do with it.

   I also setup a free wordpress blog to test if I receive incoming and it does.

   Any help is appreciated. Thanx

   huh?

   you set up a blog to test if it receives incoming pings and it does. so whats the problem?

   When you ping another blog THEY decide whether or not its displayed.

   Maybe it went into moderation... maybe they didnt approve it.

   If you can ping one blog but another thats why.

   No. I CAN receive incoming pings on my blog. But outgoing blogs do not post them. I am 100% sure my blog is not sending outgoing pings.

   Two blogs I always trackback to usually post INSTANTLY and they havent posted still, days later. I even trackbacked them with the test blog and they showed up instantly. These blogs do not have moderation on (at least not for trackbacks)

   So, my problem is that my outgoing trackbacks do not show. I included the part about receiving incoming pings because I thought it may have been helpful, but I guess not.

   Well, I have resolved the issue on my own and I decided to update this thread for anyone in the future with this problem. The problem was that when I moved to a new host, my permissions were not set correctly. I basically set my whole "plugins" folder permissions to 777. At least thats what I think did it. I was actually fixing something else, and I just noticed my trackbacks started working. It even showed tracbkacks on other blogs that I left weeks ago but never showed up.

   I am very surprised by that...

   Just thought I'd let you guys know what my solution was..
