Hi, I would like to be able to make a posts from a certain category always at a top of my home page, regardless of when did I wrote other posts, is it possible?

WP-Sticky is one plugin you might consider.

But it has to be applied to posts and not to whole categories.

Well then you might look at the Custom Query String Reloaded plugin or go about fashioning your own logic in your loop -- see The Loop article for more on that.
