Not receiving email from WP contact form (7 posts)

I have tried several WP contact forms, currently using Contact Form 7.

All were configured correctly, and sent email, but I do not receive the sent email to my domain email address (which otherwise works fine).

I have a few other websites/domains, hosted with different companies, and when I configure the forms to send the email to these email addresses, I am not receiving email sent to any of them either.

That all said, with each contact from, if it is configured to send email to my Google Mail email address, all email is received, no problem.

I initially thought it might be a problem with my hosting, but as email is received by GMail, wouldn’t it rule this out?

Why is email received by my GMail account, but not my domain email accounts?

Any suggestions greatly and desperately received.

    Hi,

Does anyone have a solution to this problem. I have just set up a blog and I'm having the exact same problem.

There are a number of things that could be going on. Are you able to receive any emails from Wordpress? e.g if you try and do a password reset, do you receive any email notification? If not, I would start by checking if the server that is hosting your Wordpress blog has been configured to send out email. This may come in the form of an application or a PHP function. If the Email facility exists, has it been configured to allow Wordpress to send out Email? It could just be a permission issue. If everything is configured correctly, look at the server mail logs if possible and try and see what happens when an email is sent. I hope this helps, like I said, it could be any number of issues but I would start with these suggestions.

    Hi,

    Thanks aongoma.
All I did was add something to the "From" field in the options to the contact form.
so I put "wordpress@lancesview.com" (since my blog is at http://www.lancesview.com )in the From field and now I can receive emails. Strange. I guess my email host doesn't allow emails without a "From" field.

    Hopefully it keeps working.

sorry about that, I missed "my gmail receives the emails". In that case check the spam filters, ensure that the domain you're sending the email from is white listed. Also ensure that the emails being sent from Wordpress conform to good standards and will not be considered spam/malicious emails by the spam filters.
