I really like, and thank you for, the ability to auto-publish selected content to my blog. However, WpeMatico does not do what is said.

On the WpeMatico -> Edit Campaigns page, for, “Max items to create on each fetch”, it says, “Set it to 0 for unlimited. If set to a X value, only the last X items will be selected, ignoring the older ones.”

Sorry, but this is not true.

It does indeed select only X items, but it does not ignore older (by date) ones. What WpeMatico does do, is select the item at the ‘top’ of the list of items in the feed regardless of the publication date.

In fact, a cursory look at the code shows that the publication date is not even parsed until after campaign_max has been reached. The processFeed function assumes that feed items are fetched in descending date order, and this may not always be the case.

    Hi, You are almost right.
The plugin taken the items ordered by source feed order. Newer to older, but not by date, just assumes first item as newer and last item on list as older. Up to down.

When I say “0 for unlimited” neither is true because is limited for duplicate filters and the size of the feed (normally just 10 items).

“Ignoring the older ones” means that just ignore all items after X value on original order of the feed. This means that may be some items are not fetched.

ANYWAY: best practice with this field is set to 2 to 5 items and a cron more times per day then there aren’t lost items.

    thanks for your feedback
