Hi, I’m new to WordPress. I just installed the Singl theme and would like to add infinite scroll. I installed the plugin “infinite-scroll” and it’s asking me for my css selectors. Specifically:

Content Selector (Div containing your theme’s content)
Navigation Selector (Div containing your theme’s navigation)
Next Selector (Link to next page of content)
Item Selector (Div containing and individual post)

This is a completely foreign language to me :-\.

Has anyone installed an infinite scroller on Singl with any luck? Is this scroller compatible with this theme? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi there, Singl is already Infinite-Scroll ready. 🙂 Just install the Jetpack plugin and activate Infinite Scroll under Jetpack > Settings.

Let me know how it goes!

This sounds promising…I came across the jetpack plugin but didn’t know how to get it working. Will jetpack bog down my page in any way? Is it buggy? I’m trying to keep things really clean and simple. When I install it, it tries to link up with wordpress.com right? Why is this and do I have to allow it or is there another option?

Note: There’s an interesting situation with Singl…I initially built a site on wordpress.com and infinite scroll was pre-installed ready to go in the wordpress.com dashboard. ‘But when I decided to rebuild my site on Godaddy’s servers (uses wordpress.org software?), the infinite scroll option was gone from the dashboard. ‘And various other options like mobile etc. I would have transferred the site, which may have made things easier, but wordpress.com doesn’t give out the ftp, at least not for the freebie sites from my understanding.

    Thanks!

PS This is the infinite scroll plug-in that I was initially referring to for the css selectors:

Jetpack is used by millions of people, and has a whole team of developers actively working to make it better and better. We recommend you activate only the modules you need.

When I install it, it tries to link up with wordpress.com right? Why is this and do I have to allow it or is there another option?

Some modules require a connection to WordPress.com to take advantage of our servers. For example, it’s required for modules like Photon, stats, and the spellchecker, which run off our servers. Other modules can be used without connection to WordPress.com.

I initially built a site on wordpress.com and infinite scroll was pre-installed ready to go in the wordpress.com dashboard.

Infinite Scroll is built into WordPress.com. The Jetpack plugin brings many of the most popular features of WordPress.com to self-hosted sites, like tiled galleries, stats, image carousel, custom CSS, related posts, and tons more.

If you need any help with Jetpack, feel free to post in their support forums:
