Embedding Videos in WordPress 4.0 Issues Vimeo, Dailymotion,etc

    I have been using WordPress 4.0 for a few days now and I have two issues I have been trying to get solved. One, the new way of inserting YouTube videos is good but when I enter the URL, not embed code, in a line I see the video appear but I can resize it via drag and drop like when I was using the embed code like before.

    I don’t even see any indication the video has been selected when I click on it in the create post section in the WP dashboard. It’s just there and I can’t even delete it that easily. I have to save the text in a text editor and select all in the composition window to delete it and revert to the old way of embedding and re-insert the body of text. This is a problem.

    And two, can videos from other sites such as Vimeo and Dailymotion be embedded the same as in the new way for YouTube videos, by just entering the URL and the video appears? Or is this strictly for YouTube. If for YouTube alone this would be foolish and great videos appear on other video sharing sites and some aren’t available in YouTube or as clear.

    Hm, I’m not having that problem myself.

    First, please make sure that your browser is up to date by visiting http://whatbrowser.org/

    If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

    If it is, please do these two things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

    2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

    And two, can videos from other sites such as Vimeo and Dailymotion be embedded the same as in the new way for YouTube videos, by just entering the URL and the video appears?
