I help support Carrie Dil’s Winning Agent Pro child theme. I updated my test site to WordPress 4.0. Now when using the AgentPress Listings search widget, it is putting a title “Search results for:” at the top of the search results page that was never there before. Nothing else has changed in the theme code. I searched and the text appears to be coming from core Genesis file search.php which includes a filter for genesis_search_title_output. Trying to figure out what changed in WP 4.0 that would cause this in AP Listings plugin change.

There was a change in how WP query works in 4.0. We are currently working on a fix.

Thanks Ron, I was a tad worried for a second and found you’re already onto it. Cheers.

I am having this same problem on my free theme (pristine.cre8tivediva.com). Any resolution in the near future? I know people will be contacting me who have downloaded the theme.

I have several clients who are asking if there is a resolution to this yet. I see an update on the plugin for 9/19 but there’s nothing in the dashboard that says to update the plugin.

dashboard that says to update the plugin.

Try going to your updates screen & tell it to check for updates. The version released on Friday fixes the issue in this thread.

I did that, logged out, logged back in, cleared cache and hit check for updates about 5 times. The only updates sitting in there is for the default wordpress themes. All of the other plugins are updated. Not sure why it won’t give me the update.

I have two other themes I just checked. The update isn’t showing up in either one of those.

Here is a screenshot of one of them. These plugins need updating – Agentpress Listings is not showing up in there – http://awesomescreenshot.com/0d93ivr228.

I couldn’t get the update to show either so I ftp’d the new files but now any single listing page gives the error-

Fatal error: [] operator not supported for strings in .../public_html/wp-content/plugins/agentpress-listings/includes/class-listings.php on line 27

I also note the plugin advises that its now not compatible with WP 4.0- any idea of how I can fix this?

    Anita C

    (@mymothersdaughter)

I am getting the same as Alex and also when that page renders the error – the WP Admin bar disappears at the top of the page leaving a gap where it should show it. You cannot navigate back to the dashboard unless you manually type it in the address bar.

WP does not advise you that plugins are not compatible. What it says is that it may not be compatible. The compatibility message is based on the version compatibility included in the plugin readme. We forgot to update the readme to say it was compatible with 4.0.

It’s still not showing up in any of my dashboards that there is even this latest update. When I manually install a fresh version I am getting that error related to the lines about crumbs. Will this be fixed soon? I have a couple of clients who are starting to get pissed at me and it’s not even something I can fix.

WP does not advise you that plugins are not compatible.

Even so, the new WP 4.0 plugins dashboard certainly gives the impression that it is indeed not compatible as per- screenshot
