• I’ve searched the archives & haven’t been able to come up with anything that really matches up closely with the problem that I’m just encountered today.

    I’m running 1.2.2Mingus.

Suddenly, whenever I go to login to the admin dashboard, with either my admin or my main user account, I get sent to a page (wp-admin/post.php) where I’m shown this message:

Since you’re a newcomer, you’ll have to wait for an admin to raise your level to 1, in order to be authorized to post blog items.
You can also e-mail the admin to ask for a promotion.
When you’re promoted, just reload this page and you’ll be able to blog. 🙂

The odd thing is, a check into the MySQL db shows that the admin account is a user level 10, and the user level on my main account is 9. Both, then, are above the threshhold of being able to post, login, manage plugins, etc.

The blog is able to be viewed without any problems, and I’m able to post entries to it via w.bloggar without problems. It’s just logging in to the dashboard that suddenly crapped out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    -ghp

    UPDATE:

It turns out that, unbeknownst to me, my admin-header.php file got zeroed out. So, all of the problems I was running into were due to the absence of any code in that file.

When I restored admin-header.php from a recent backup, things started working correctly again.
