then I downloaded wordpress.zip and extracted it and uploaded files with FTP and it works fine now
but when re-enabling hide back-end I still get the error

Hai, good to know that you found right place to resolve your hide back end issues.
Either you re-install from your site back end or you upload through FTP, you don’t get expected result if previously installation having any issues with this plugin. To workaround this either through phpMyAdmin or through mySQL queries one can alter the above said table data from wp-options in the data base. It is not a beginners stuff.
So, I opened this thread to report the concern plugin author. We don’t have any severe issues with hide backend at our end. And we resolved at our end too. To make aware of this bug to other site admins and to report to iThemes security, I opened this ticket.
errors occurred again after enabling hide back-end
I have to open thread with ithemes support as I purchased ithemes security pro
It is a bug in iThemes Security Plugin, that is why I opened this thread. It’s not a security issue but just a bug.
Thx Amer, I locked myself out of the backend with the hide backend feature and got it right back to work when changing the entry in phpmyadmin.
Thanks for the pointer!
