• I am developing a site for our organization, which is part of a larger organization. I added our logo to the header, but I’ve been asked to put a very small logo for our parent organization in the header bar, opposite of where the social media links show up.

I tried inserting code in the header bar text box, and, as long as I’m in the customize panel, I can see the logo. However, when I click save and publish, the image goes away. We are coming upon a big deadline, so I’m running out of time to figure this out on my own.

I would share the link, but our parent company’s test server does not allow viewing off network.

Thanks, in advance, for any help you can provide!

  • Hi there!

As you have figured out, you cannot add an image to the header bar. You would need to add a theme customization in order to do this.

When you say add a theme customization, what exactly do you mean? I’ve got a child theme and have customized a number of theme elements to meet the style demands of our organization’s director. Her request to put the parent organization’s logo in the header bar, though, has stumped me.

    Hello!

When you say add a theme customization, what exactly do you mean?

Zack is referring to any type of modification that requires editing your theme’s code (CSS,HTML, or PHP) to achieve what you’re after.

I also want to add an image in the header-bar for the MAKE Theme. Can I customize the CSS in my child-theme to do this? If so, can you provide the necessary? Thanks for any help.
