I've been unable to unzip 2.6.2, 2.6.1, and 2.6 on either of two Vista machines running WinZip 11.2. The Extract operation ALWAYS crashes WinZip halfway through.
Can anyone else confirm this? If it were just a single machine, I'd think it was user error.
Don't have Vista to verify your problem so what about http://www.7-zip.org/

I've certainly found other ways to unzip the file, I would just think that this problem should be reported if it's an actual issue.

I have been OK until today, Vista crashes when trying to unzip 2.6.3
Wonder if you might consider reporting this problem at http://trac.wordpress.org
You can use your forum login/password there.

I am also having this problem with 2.6.3 and vista. With about 90 seconds left, windows explorer suddenly stops and the extracts fails at that point. I downloaded the zip file twice. Same result.

Downloaded free copy of Winzip and same problem. So, I went back to 2.5.1 and that worked (used Winzip, not vista extract).
I will use the automatic upgrade plug-in to get everything current when I get this set up.

I had the same issue, using Winzip, in Vista. Try right clicking on the zip file, then go to Properties. At the bottom right of the box that comes up, there will be a button that says "unblock". Click it, then click OK and try unzipping again.

Thanks Justin85 - this was driving me nuts also. your 'unblock' fix works. i have reported problem to winzip (seems a common problem).
