Add archive posts to static custom front page

    How to add posts (of a specific category), (as is shown on archive pages – with featured image, excerpt and Read More) on a static page below custom text and images?

    Example:

    CUSTOM TEXT
    AND IMAGES

    RECENT POSTS:
    Image, excerpt, Read More
    Image, excerpt, Read More
    Image, excerpt, Read More

    Is this understandable? Thanks for any help!
