Prevent users from jumping from one subsite to the other

    Hello,
    I’m attempting to create an e-learning platform for a business that offers professional courses. I’m currently exploring my options, of which one is multisites for each individual course. What I would like to setup is a place where each coach/teacher can setup their own blog and e-learning environment so attendees can stay in touch and discuss with one another. I guess it’s a bit like edublog.org but on a much smaller scale (less than 15 coaches/subsites atm)

    However, after reading the materials of Mika Epstein I’m still left with some questions:

    It has come to my understanding that multisites share their userbase across the whole network. However, I would prefer members not to be able to peek at the materials of other subsites, let alone be able to comment at a subsite to which they did not enroll for. Also coaches should not be able to make any changes to someone else’s subsite.

    In this case, would it be wise to still use multisites and if so, how can I ensure that students can only access the mainsite and the microsite of the course to which they are enrolled. I’m guessing some plugins but are there any that you guys would recommend?

    Since I’m completely new to the multisite concept (though experienced in wordpress development) I would like to have some feedback from the experts. Thank you for your time in advance!

    By default, all members of your network are psudeo-subscribers to all sites, so the coaches would be able to see any publicly posted content (like a normal visitor) and (alas) post comments. They would NOT be able to make any changes though! So it’s just the comment thing. And at that end, we have plugins 😀
