• Was referred to this theme by a friend to test it out on a client project. Set it up offline, made it live and we were about to hand over the keys to the client until we discovered some issues with the theme… and how it is advertised (which is really why I gave it 1 star.)

Mobile first? I pray to God you guys didn’t actually design this first on mobile. On a couple of devices it was very laggy, would freeze, be choppy, or glitchy, and one simply didn’t work at all. Test first and *FIX the load times!*

Now your thinking “duh, it’s your internet!” It was tested on high speed wifi, as well as 4g, 3g, etc.

I am just really mad I wasted so much time. I have now switched to a different theme for the project. Please test the themes via multiple devices, and if your going to advertise “mobile first,” design it on mobile devices first, if you did not.

  • I’m the theme author and I’m sorry you are having these problems. I did design the theme mobile first and I’ve tested it on iOS, Android, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. There is a strong possibility that this behavior is due to poorly made plugins slowing down the site, but Decode only loads one stylesheet and one script so I doubt this is the case. If you’d like for me to take a look at your site and see what’s up I’d be more than happy to do so, but I don’t appreciate you leaving a one star review publicly without sending me an email or trying to reach out in some way. Next time, I hope you give your theme developer a chance.

Never ever any problems viewing my decode themed sites on iOS or Android. In fact, I get some good feedback from people who enjoy using the sites on mobile.

    Thanks Scott.

Never pushed the site live because of the issues. I constantly search for different/new themes for different projects so my showcase isn’t the same thing over and over.

Irrelevant. These issues are either fabricated or, if indeed real problems, would be better addressed by an email or support ticket.

Amazing theme. I just love it. It is quite easily customizable, fully responsive & fully free!

Ofcourse the negative reviews in comments are either from people who don’t know basics of customization or they are looking only for mobile versions.

I heartily thank Scott Smith for this freebie. RESPECT 🙂

Here is my site for the proof: [Moderated – Just link to the theme’s demo site]

Darshan, I clicked on your site… uh, maybe not what the theme maker wants as a showcase. You are really in love with social media icons however!!

I hope this theme can do better than that!

Yes, I too can confirm, that the theme works flawlessly. It’s quite upsetting to see, how little respect these people have. If you overload your WP install with tons of plugins of course, chances are that something will go wrong. Don’t blame the theme owner.

Works perfectly on every browser, mobile or otherwise.

Besides, it’s free. So what are you complaining about?
