Any ideas what my problem is here? Meant to have a big launch this weekend! πŸ™

I’ve just loaded up a new WordPress website (GoDaddy.com hosting) using v2.6.2 and PrimePress theme 1.2.2. I’ve also made a couple of tweaks to the theme but nothing major.

The problem I’m having is that the website periodically breaks, symptoms being:

    1. Where the content was I get about 5 instances of: “[an error occurred while processing this directive]”
    2. The Blog Title and Tagline are still there, as are the navigation tabs and the footer.
    3. Logging into the backend fixes the problem, until it crops up again.

    Plugins I’m using:

    Akismet 2.1.8
    Enhanced WP-ContactForm 2.0
    Google XML Sitemaps 3.1.0.1
    My Page Order 2.6.1
    Quotes Collection 1.1.4
    Wordpress Automatic Upgrade 1.2.2
    WP Security Scan 2.3
    WP Super Cache 0.7.1

  • A couple possibilities:

It’s a plugin problem. Disable them and see if the problem goes away. If it does, re-enable them one by one to see which one causes the problem.

Something went wrong during your upload of the WordPress files and some files are missing/corrupted. A WordPress upgrade (even if it’s to the same version) can fix this.

Thanks, turned out to be WP Super Cache 0.7.1

For others who encounter this problem, make sure your files are in order too.

Somehow I got a “single.php” file mixed in with the files in my root folder, where as all my other WordPress files are in a “wp” folder. Once I deleted the one in the root, the problem was resolved.
