• Hello everybody,

I truly did some search work before starting this topic but I couldn’t find a appropriate answer.

I am thinking about switching from another CMS to WordPress. But one thing I need to nail. And that is making lists of items.

What do I mean? Well, in WordPress we have posts and pages. But sometimes I need a specific range of items on a certain page.

An example. Let’s say I have a page called ’Our people’. This page is meant to display a list of people with there photo, name and job title. I want these to appear in 2 or 3 columns.

Of course I can edit the HTML of this page a bit and add some CSS to make it work. No problem for me. But for my client who is going to work with WordPress, to manage his website, it is. I can’t teach my client HTML / CSS to get things working. That’s not his task.

So I am looking for a solution / plugin where the client can easily add an item, fills in the fields (photo, name and job title) and can add this just like a post. The rest of the ’magic’ will happen behind the screens.

Of course this is one example. It could be used for many things like books, products, job listings, etc.

I guess there will be people that will say: Use posts for this! I guess it could be used for it but the problem I have with this is that you get all kinds of different data in one huge list. And that makes it a bit cluttered. Sure you can filter but I am not sure if this will work for a customer.

Any thoughts on this? Are there plugins where you can create separate databases with items?

    John
