• Has anyone looked into the possibility of importing posts from ExpressionEngine.

I currently have a EE site and want to move to a new CMS. I have been looking at several and WP is one of them. I would really hate to lose the hundreds of posts I have and really don’t want to enter them by hand.

    Anyone?

  • you may want to look into whether EE exports posts in some form or the other.

If you can create a custom RSS feed with all the entries in it, then you can use import-rss.php in wordpress to import the entries.

Unfortunatly, I don’t see an Export feature.

The RSS feed thing almost worked. It brought over the posts pretty good, just had problems with the categories. I might take a look at the import php file and see if there is something I can do about that.

Of course, I would love to pull the comments over too.

I might just start over with what ever I decide on (WP is leading at this point) and leave the old site running with links to the new one. I’m not really much of a PHP programmer.
