    Hi, I am building some websites on my laptop (with Xampp). I like to make backups on an external harddisk, so I can restore the sites when I have wrecked them by accident or when my laptop dies or gets stolen. Is UpDraftPlus the right plugin for that? Can it restore the websites on a new WP installation, without the need of a lot of programming knowledge?

    Hi Vincent,

    The free version can send backups to Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3 and FTP. If you want to back up to a local hard drive, you’ll need the Premium version.

    The free version can restore to a website on the same URL; to clone the website to a new URL, you will need the Premium version.
