Gallery inserted by Insert Gallery Window not working

    I have used NextGen gallery on a site for three years, and have regularly upgraded NextGen, but not inserted new galleries after 2.0 until now. Galleries inserted by shortcodes displays fine, e.g. [nggallery id=5], but when I insert a thumbnails gallery using the Insert Gallery Window, only the first thumbnail is displayed. The code inserted is
    <img class="ngg_displayed_gallery mceItem" src="http://stig.ulfsby.no/wordpress/nextgen-attach_to_post/preview/id--497" alt="" />.

    I deactivated all other plugins and activated the twentyfourteen theme with no effect. The problem percisted. I use the latest version of NextGen and WordPress.

    @Ulfsby Webdesign – Have you tried the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options?

    I tried the Reset Option, and inserted the gallery again, but the issue persists. I have a post dated 2013-10-29 with a gallery that displays fine. When I insert the same gallery in a new post, it only displays one thumbnail which can not be opened.

    @Ulfsby Webdesign – You appear to have two different addresses in use for the WordPress and Site URL … have you tried setting them both to the same address?

    I always set up the sites like this to not mess up the root directory. NGG use to work fine on such configurations.

    @Ulfsby Webdesign – We do recognize this to be an issue when those addresses are not the same but the current work-around is to have them be the same (or use shortcode structures) while we continue to work on getting this issue sorted out.
