I downloaded the Mailchimp for wordpress plugin because I want visitors to have to sign in before they can post a comment. I’ve been able to set it up so there is a checkbox below the comment section of the page along with a message that says, “Sign in to leave a comment or review”. But people can still leave comments whether they sign in or not. How do I make visitors sign in before they can post a comment? What am I missing. See page below.
With “sign in”, do you mean “sign-up” or “subscribe” to your newsletter? Unfortunately, this isn’t possible with the plugin. You can’t force your visitors to subscribe before they are allowed to leave a comment.
If you mean sign-in then there is a WordPress setting that does this. WP Admin > Settings > Discussion > “Users must be registered and logged in to comment “.
